Starting from the March 2, Turkey introduces a visa-free regime for citizens of six European countries.
This news were announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Hami Aksoy.
“Turkey introduces a visa-free regime for citizens of a number of Schengen countries — Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, and the UK,”.
It is already a popular destination for British tourists, with more than 2.5 million arrivals last year. Some 51.9 million people visited the country in 2019,
including 44.7 million foreigners and 7.2 million Turkish expats.
Having hosted the highest annual number of tourists ever last year, Turkey was the sixth most-visited country in the world, according to
the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
He added that it will be possible to stay in Turkey 90 days for a 180-day period with a tourist visa for the above mentioned citizens.
It was made in order to increase the tourist flow, as well as the development of cultural, commercial and economic relations between the states.
