August 30 is the victory day in turkey , everybody celebrating this day.

From Aug. 26 to Aug. 30, 1922, Turkish forces fought the Battle of Dumlupinar in what is now Turkey’s western Kutahya province, where the invading Greek army was decisively defeated.

By the end of 1922, all foreign forces had been expelled from the territories that collectively became the Republic of Turkey a year later.

Victory Day is celebrated across Turkey and in the northern Cyprus. It is a celebration of the Turkish military and the Turkish republic. The main celebration is held at Atatürk’s Mausoleum in Ankara.

A ceremony is also held at the War Academy in Istanbul, with all military promotions made on this day

Banks, council offices and the Turkish stock exchange schools will be closed on Victory day.
